I was thinking about all the talented people who might not be able to get time off from work, or be able to afford making the trip to American Idol.
Fall 2008
After thinking for a full year about how I would be able to afford or even start a singing Competition on the internet, I decided to just give it a try on YouTube.
Spring 2009
The video asking for people to post video responses has over 10,000 views and over 100 responses.
Summer 2009
The name gets changed from YouTube Idol to You idol Me.
You idol Me ends up getting over 350 Video responses.
Video responses stop getting accepted, and the elimination process begins.
Fall 2009
Luke Shaffer gets eliminated from You idol Me after making it to the final 36.
Payton Burrows goes on to win You idol Me 2009 after a very close finish with Bianca.
Winter 2010
You idol Me 2010 Begins with many more people interested then the year before.
Luke Shaffer makes it to Hollywood on the season premiere of American Idol.
